Sing to Him, sing praises to Him tell all of His wondrous work! (Psalm 105:2)
Led by Music Director Romain Major and Choir Conductor Marcos Garcia Gutierrez, Emmanuel Church's choir, numbering a dozen regular members, often has the depth and richness of a 30-strong ensemble, literally “making a joyful noise unto the Lord”. Our choir is extremely versatile and dedicated.
The singers are an integral part of every 10:30 Sunday worship service. The repertoire is diverse, with music from many cultures and traditions reflecting our multicultural congregation. They sing everything from traditional church and classical repertory, to contemporary Christian worship and praise music. They also explore African music, music from Iona and spirituals. Many pieces have been written by members of the Emmanuel community. They meet once a week, usually a Thursday evening, to practice.
The choir of Emmanuel is an accomplished, warm and committed group. They are always pleased to welcome new members. Singers should have some music reading skills, but help is there to learn scores if needed. Your presence and your voice are the most important things!
